Every open-source humanoid we opened was built to walk. This one is being built to fight. 1.25 m. 23 driven joints. No hands. No neck. A hand on the back handle in every honest walk.

Strip 01 — the shell

Fifty-five printed panels. Static display: thin gaps, wiring pain, not signed off for a run or a hit.

Strip 02 — the box

Inside the V: a 48 V 15 Ah pack, the RBE 3-in-1 board, an Orange Pi or RDK. The heaviest link in the URDF is the torso. That is what you are punching toward.

Strip 03 — what walks

CNC frame, X-truss chest, 23 DM actuators on four CAN buses, two rods per ankle. This is the honest fight look. Tether until get-up holds.

Strip 04 — 24 links

The frame is the 24 links of the URDF, drawn from the real link meshes. Every joint is a DM actuator bolted between sandblasted CNC plates. ¥15,670 of machining on the January 2026 BOM.

Strip 05 — 23 actuators

Nine DM 10010L at ¥1,989 and fourteen DM 4340P at ¥949. Actuators are 63% of the robot: ¥31,187. Buy them before you cut aluminium; lead time is the project.

Strip 06 — the cart

ATOM 01 v1.0.1 BOM, 2026-01-05: ¥49,713 for the kit of parts. About 660 screws M3–M5, one 130 × 165 × 18 bearing, eight spherical bearings, nine thrust bearings. Not a Saturday project.

01 — The body

What you are
actually looking at

A 1.25-meter biped. About 34 kilograms. 23 driven joints. No hands. No neck. A display-box head with two vertical pill eyes, or no head at all, depending on which photo you are looking at.

The serial is NV-01. The chest mark is Norevert. We are pointing this body at the 40-kilogram cage.

02 — Inside

23 joints,
two motors

Nine DM 10010L carry the weight: three per hip, one per knee, one in the waist. Fourteen DM 4340P do everything else: five per arm, two per ankle. The ankle is the signature. Two motors sit high on the shin and drive the foot through two silver rods. If someone sends you an “is this the same robot?” photo, look at the ankle before the face.

Four CAN buses leave the RBE board: left leg, right leg plus waist, left arm, right arm. Yellow labels on the real looms exist for a reason.

03 — The cart

Every line below has a live shop SKU behind it. This is the ATOM 01 v1.0.1 bill of materials dated 2026-01-05, in CNY, as the frame was costed. Actuators are 63% of the robot. The CNC package is a third. Everything else is small.

It is closer to assembling a small motorcycle than flashing a robot dog. A shop with a CNC and a week of evenings can reproduce the skeleton. A weekend cannot.

04 — Two looks, one machine

Do not mix them

05 — Lab, not a mascot

What actually
walks

CNC frame. X-truss chest. Blue pack in the cutout. Yellow tape on the looms. No head. Hoist ropes from the upper corners. Every honest walk we have starts with ropes or a hand on the rear handle. The handle is a designed part. We treat it as part of the robot.

06 — The job

Not on a card yet

Norevert is not on a published URKL, CyberHero, REK or UFB card. If a sentence needs that slot to work, we cut the sentence. The work is the body and the policies: retarget onto this skeleton, train get-up first, guard second. A jab that dumps the robot is not a jab.

Legs are a balance policy. Arms are a pad or a headset. Unlocking all 23 joints in teleop without a balance policy is a faceplant, not a combo.

House rules until a league writes us in

  1. Three rounds, two minutes each.
  2. Thirty seconds rest between rounds.
  3. Tether on until get-up holds on hardware.
  4. First hits are a bag on a gantry. Not a person. Not an untethered spar.
  5. A glove is a foam cup on the flange. EVA on chest and shoulders, tape on the shins.
  6. Every published walk says whether a hand is on the bar. Every strike says what it hit.

Things we do not write

  • 20 degrees of freedom. The URDF is 23.
  • 3 m/s. Nobody timed it. We have not measured a meter.
  • Kicked it and it stood up. That clip sits next to a Unitree G1.
  • A flying kick that takes a head off. That was a T800-class machine on someone else’s night.
  • Stairs as a first-party demo. We have a third-party title, not a checked tape.
  • A G1 boxing brain. 29 actions on different kinematics. We train on this skeleton.
  • A slot on a league card. Building for the cage is not a slot.
